[edit] Summary
Left to right, the Mueller, Hooker and Tasman Glaciers in the New Zealand Alps, showing major retreat in the ~10 years circa 1990 to 2000. Notice the larger terminal lakes, the retreat of the white ice (ice free of moraine cover, high up on the glaciers), and (more subtly) the increase in height of the moraine walls due to ice thinning.
Stacked NASA World Wind images from the 1990 and 2000 NASA GeoCover collections (Landsat 4/5 and Landsat 7 TM/ETM false-colour images [1]).
