[edit] World Radio Geneva

Hey cool, no problems. I only thought it was more opinion than fact, that's why I removed that line. I think I might possible be wrong even about part of that line, since I suppose it is fact that revenues did climb. It is a nicely written article though; keep up the excellent work! This is what the 'pedia is all about, strangers working together :) MDCore 10:24, 19 Aug 2004 (UTC)

[edit] WIkiProject

Hi there, I notice you have added my info box to a few pages so I thought you may be interested that I have created a wikiproject for British television channels at Wikipedia:WikiProject_British_TV_channels to coordinate the box adding and stuff. if you fancy joining that would be cool. thanks MrWeeble 20:44, 30 Sep 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Room 101

That's quite alright. I just happened to bbe watching it, I'm just about ot watch the Fern Britton one.--Crestville 19:43, 18 Oct 2004 (UTC)

[edit] French Genericized trademarks

I noticed you added a "French" section to genericized trademark. Both items you list (Bic and Scotch) are already listed in the main list. Is there a need for a French list? Samw 02:03, 11 Nov 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Voices of Greece and Turkey

Thanks for all your contributions to the articles I started. Mavros 20:01, 27 Nov 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Article Licensing

Hi, I've started a drive to get users to multi-license all of their contributions that they've made to either (1) all U.S. state, county, and city articles or (2) all articles, using the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike (CC-by-sa) v1.0 and v2.0 Licenses or into the public domain if they prefer. The CC-by-sa license is a true free documentation license that is similar to Wikipedia's license, the GFDL, but it allows other projects, such as WikiTravel, to use our articles. Since you are among the top 2000 Wikipedians by edits, I was wondering if you would be willing to multi-license all of your contributions or at minimum those on the geographic articles. Over 90% of people asked have agreed. For More Information:

To allow us to track those users who muli-license their contributions, many users copy and paste the "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" template into their user page, but there are other options at Template messages/User namespace. The following examples could also copied and pasted into your user page:

Option 1
I agree to multi-license all my contributions, with the exception of my user pages, as described below:
DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual

OR

Option 2
I agree to multi-license all my contributions to any U.S. state, county, or city article as described below:
DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual

Or if you wanted to place your work into the public domain, you could replace "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" with "MultiLicensePD". If you only prefer using the GFDL, I would like to know that too. Please let me know what you think at my talk page. It's important to know either way so no one keeps asking. -- Ram-Man (comment| talk)

[edit] Copyright question

Philip - In Noevember, you recently uploaded Image:Ludwig van Beethoven - Ode to Joy.ogg, a rendition of Beethoven's 9th symphony, 4th movement (The ode to joy). What's the source of the song (IE, where did you get it)? What are the copyright terms for it? →Raul654 18:41, Feb 4, 2005 (UTC)

Philip - again, I need to ask - what is the source/copyright info for the file you uploaded? If there is none, it's going to have to be deleted. →Raul654 23:15, Feb 7, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] IFD

Hello. To let you know, I placed one of your images on Wikipedia:Images for Deletion. The image in question is Image:Euro_signs.GIF, and the reasoning I gave is that I have uploaded a better version at Image:Euro_signs.png. If you have any questions, please talk to me or go to the IFD page to see its entry. Thank you. Zscout370 (talk) 17:59, 26 Apr 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Euro Symbol

Thanks for your kind response to the ifd above. Now, I want to upload a few new images of the Euro symbol I will do it a bit later, but I need to do a png compression. Zscout370 (talk) 19:02, 26 Apr 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Nazi architecture

Is a well researched and footnoted article, the POV might be that of the numerous author's quoted, but certainly they are versed on the topic of Nazi architecture. Endurance 01:42, 12 July 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Gaymap

Please read the last comment on Image_talk:Gaymap.PNG before reverting to an earlier, incorrect version. Thanks Dysprosia 10:01, 22 July 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Regarding your edit to Pound sterling

Yep, you're right, Flag of Denmark Denmark is a member of ERM II - however, she still has an opt-out, as does the Flag of United Kingdom United Kingdom. Flag of Sweden Sweden does not have an official opt-out, and that's the difference. I've reverted your edit accordingly, okay? ナイトスタリオン 10:11, 1 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Nationality Disclaimer

Hi Philip

In reference to the nationality law disclaimer you inserted:

'The information in this article of nationality law, should be only used as reference. Contact the nationality department of the relative government for the official guidelines on nationality.'

Shouldn't relative instead read relevant? JAJ 00:54, 29 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] [Image:Barcode 15 european.PNG]

Hey there, thank you for uploading this really cool image of the barcode. However could you also please insert the source of the image? It's just better to have it as well in order to avoid any problems, should someone want to double-check it in future. The copyrighted tag is correct anyways. with kind regards Gryffindor 18:54, 27 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Removed Image:DualMap.PNG

Can you please tell me why you removed Image:DualMap.PNG from the Multiple citizenship article? If you don't think it's accurate please improve it. Are you are refering to the inticate policies of nations towards citizenship? The map is to serve as an approximate guide, not legal advice, and gets it's data directly from the United States government. In the meanwhile I restored it. +Hexagon1 (talk) 06:45, 4 March 2006 (UTC)

I intended for it to be more as a general guideline for adults who with to acquire the citizenship of another nation, it would be much too complex otherwise, and the data is from 2001, many laws have changed, and everyone can update the picture freely, so anyone can update the picture. I'll update the picture for Finland and Norway, but I still think we should keep it on the article as a quick reference. +Hexagon1 (talk) 11:22, 4 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image Tagging Image:Barcode 15 european.PNG

Warning sign
This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Barcode 15 european.PNG. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then it needs to be specified where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the GFDL-self tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, consider reading fair use, and then use a tag such as article name or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other media, consider checking that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Image legality questions page. Thank you. Smiker 18:46, 29 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image Tagging for Image:Alan_Rusbridger.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Alan_Rusbridger.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

[edit] European Union motto

The EU motto "In varietate concordia" according to you is "United in diversity" and not "Unity in diversity". However as far as I can tell from [1] concordia is a noun and not an adjective. The adjective seems to be concors, although it seems that this could have an ending -dia. I'm sure you can enlighten me. Please respond on my talk --MarSch 10:19, 16 April 2006 (UTC)

So whta happened, did they just decree that the English translation and other translations should use an adjective or are there plans to change the Latin version. Or is there an official version of the motto in ach language which are only superficially translations of eachother, instead of only one official latin one? --MarSch 12:01, 16 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Swiss motorway vignette 2006.PNG

Thanks for uploading Image:Swiss motorway vignette 2006.PNG. The image description page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

[edit] French franc

May I ask why?

It may be obvious that French is the language of France, but it might not be so obvious in some other cases. Where do you draw the line? So instead of deciding when to include the language and when not to, isn't it more consistent and convenient to include it for all scenario?

(Mayotte), and (Saint Pierre and Miquelon) are not "integral parts" of France, as explained in List of countries

[edit] Television livence

And why exactly "The info from EC isn't valid" [2]? I provide a link to a Greek newspaper mentioning the directive. You removed it on what grounds? --   Avg    20:07, 8 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Pricing in Proportion

Thanks for doing the PiP article...I was going to do similar when I got round to it. Thanks again. Pridds (not signed in!)

[edit] Unspecified source for Image:Charlotte GREEN photo.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Charlotte GREEN photo.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the GFDL-self tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as article name or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. [edit] Image:Charlotte GREEN photo.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Charlotte GREEN photo.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

 1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add Replaceable fair use disputed
 2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sherool (talk) 16:42, 2 November 2006 (UTC)
