Dear anonymous editor. The darker side of Ghirlandajo is known to me all too well. I in no way condone his behavior towards certain editors. On the other side, he is also an excellent contributor, who brought more to Wikipedia than you, me, and a dozen of other editors combined. For that reason alone I am willing to forgive him (or any other editor with a comparable bulk of contributions) many of his less serious mischiefs.

I will never support his personal attacks against anyone, but from what I've seen so far I do not recall any single case when Ghirlandajo acted in bad faith unprovoked. Considering the extent of his contributions (a list of which is readily available on his user page), I would be surprised if he had managed not to step on anyone's toes by now.

Perhaps this 24 hour block will give him enough time to chill out, but I expect exactly the same from you and your friends as well.—Ëzhiki (erinaceus amurensis) 19:44, 30 December 2005 (UTC)
