It seems to me that you are acting in an uncivil manner. Please remain civil and don't resort to making personal attacks or instigating edit wars. This edit summary [[1]] was unnecessarily abusive. Also, refer to Wikipedia:No personal attacks. Dibo | Talk | Contribs 11:22, 20 November 2006 (UTC)

It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed content from Rugby league in France. Please be careful not to remove content from Wikipedia without a valid reason, which you should specify in the edit summary or on the article's talk page. Rugby league template

Please do not refer to changes that you do not personally agree with as "vandalism" if they are not - this can be seen as provocative and assuming bad faith to other editors. It is recommended that you discuss the issues with other editors on the templates talk page. -- Chuq 10:26, 26 November 2006 (UTC)

The guy is obvoiusly an internet troll. Who in their right mind thinks that football is not football? I do not go onto soccer pages in general and try to diminish the sport, but he insults the Australian nation continually. It is vandalism.

Rugby League

On Wikipedia, the consensus is to call Rugby League, "Rugby league" so that the 99% of the planets population who have never heard of the sport know what you are talking about. Tancred 10:49, 26 November 2006 (UTC)

Not the consensus that I have read. The consensus was to use football or rugby league football where the type of football is in doubt.

Reverts

please stop being childish. before you revert pages please read what others have added. When a "Fact" tag is added please add a link, do not just remove the tag. You, under your many accounts have been editing here for months. You should know this by now.Tancred 10:49, 26 November 2006 (UTC)

I have only been editing for a handful of days. I am not sure how you/Dibo would try to assert otherwise. You are obviously a sockpuppet of Dibo.

Your edits are the same as other users. user:Ehinger222 is one example. User:Okay_that_does_not_make_sense is another. As I have said to you before please find *any* admin who will support your claim that Dibo and I are the same person. Just one. The fact is you cannot.Tancred 12:35, 26 November 2006 (UTC)
I have no idea about the processes, but you obviously are. You jumped right in and made the same illogical and out of place edits as she was trying to make. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 147.10.112.157 (talkcontribs) November 26, 2006 @ 17:27 (UTC).

Football Premiers

In the A-League, the team that finishes top of the league is called the Premiers. not the "Minor Premiers". Please don't edit things you know nothing about.Tancred 12:28, 26 November 2006 (UTC)

Provide a link and I will believe it, but they have copied everything else from Australian football competitions and the phrase has been used on foxtel, so until than I will revert it.

http://www.footballaustralia.com.au/default.aspx?s=insideffa_newsfeatures_newsitem&id=10311 "Melbourne Victory kicked off the season with a solid 2-0 win over last season’s Premiers Adelaide United"

Adelaide_United_FC "Premiers (1): 2005-06"

Tancred 17:46, 26 November 2006 (UTC)

From here [2], both terms, minor premiers and premiers are used. Also here [3] at the official Sydney site it refers to minor premiers.

Final warning

Even though it must be extremely obvious to you that your edits are not being received positively, I guess I had better give you a warning, to make it official.

  • Stop claiming that other users (User:Tancred, User:Dibo, etc) are vandals, when they simply have a different opinion to yours.
  • Stop making claims which are your opinion and uncited (eg. Alan Oakley)
  • Stop being uncivil to other users
  • Stop disrupting Wikipedia to make a point

This is your last warning.
The next time you vandalize a page, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia.

Your edits to A-League

Did you read what you were editing? You removed a valid reference in A-League solely to push your POV, as well as removed valid links to other articles for no reason. As you have previously received a final warning...

You have been temporarily blocked from editing Wikipedia because of disruptive edits. You are free to make constructive edits after the block has expired, but please note that vandalism, including page blanking or addition of random text, spam, or deliberate misinformation; privacy violations; personal attacks; and repeated and blatant violations of WP:NPOV will not be tolerated. -- Chuq 03:40, 29 November 2006 (UTC)

This blocked user (block log | autoblocks | unblock | contribs) asked to be unblocked, but one or more administrators has reviewed and declined this request. Other administrators can also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy). This unblock request continues to be visible. Do not replace this message with another unblock request.

Request reason: "The Administrater is taking a blatent POV in regards to soccer. I said I would be interested in a non soccer administrater getting involved but it was ignored and now I have been blocked for making an edit, backed up on the talk page with sources, about something which I was contributing to. Have a look at A-League and its talk section."

Decline reason: "In reviewing your case I see no evidence of impropriety on the part of User:Chuq but I see many reverts with hostile edit summaries by this IP address at the history for Template:Rugby League Playing Nations links, along with many other hostile edits at other pages over the past several days. With that in mind, I must trust User:Chuq's judgement in this case and deny this request. When you come back, try discussing the changes thoroughly before becoming involved in a revert war, especially calling other editors "vandals" over content disputes. -- Renesis (talk) 05:53, 29 November 2006 (UTC)"

Administrators: This template should be removed when the block has expired, or after 2 days in the case of blocks of 1 week or longer.

From the blocking admin: I have no problem with another admin reviewing my actions, and letting me know if they think I have acted inappropriately. -- Chuq 04:22, 29 November 2006 (UTC)

Good, but at the moment it seems like nobody is even noticing. How you can rationale blocking me and not Tancred is beyond me.

Marconi Stadium

Before you contine with your endless reverts please take the time to read what others have written. Here -> [4] I updated the page, including the election result and what this means for the stadium. Here ->[5] you reverted to an older edit, deleting the updated information.Tancred 09:37, 29 November 2006 (UTC)

Tancred, you are the endless reverter. How you are trying to level that at me is astounding and insincere.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 147.10.112.157 (talkcontribs).
Did you even read what I wrote here? Did you look at the links I provided? I thought not.Tancred 09:44, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
The electio result was never in doubt.
watch who you're pointing the finger at - tancred reverts while giving reasons for his revert and pursues a consensus view, and doesn't destroy content in the process. Dibo T | C 08:27, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
Not only that, had you had a look instead of just reverting again you could have found the reference needed to show that RL has been played at the ground. Dibo | Talk | Contribs 21:55, 29 November 2006 (UTC)
The reference was not to football but, and that is not good enough.

Despite the fact that I have been banned by a partisan soccer administrater, here is some sources for Alan Oakley

  • [6] - Clearly states "The decision by some media outlets, such as the Fairfax Sydney Morning Herald, to bestow the unadjectived word "football" on soccer can evoke three main reactions." It must be included.
No, it's not true that if you find some person willing to rave on the internet about something that it's then fit for inclusion in WP. However, mention of the name change has gone in, with a ref to the SMH article announcing the change. Dibo T | C 05:28, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
Full points footy is reputable. A quick examination proves that. Red faced too about the editorship thing, I just assumed that it was a fact because I remembered them changing it about the same time as last year's soccer qualifyer, thought it was backed up by the previous user's assertions and just thought that it was a typically English thing to do so I assumed it was fact.
"assumed" = doesn't go into wikipedia. learn it, live it. Dibo T | C 08:27, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
Quite right Dibo. Assumed is not good enough, and I got that wrong. But it would have taken nothing less than solid evidence to convince me otherwise because I was so sure of it from memory. I must of just noticed the soccer=football thing around that time.
I would say there are some major problems with the article on "fullpointsfooty" Interesting, is it not, that those countries where soccer is least popular are former British dominions: Australia, NZ, South Africa, India, Ireland, Canada and the USA? is a good example. It's clear the author has some gaps in his knowledge. Football is the number one 1 sport in South Africa for the black population (by far the majority), and they are about to host the world cup. FNB Stadium, a football specific stadium where the Kaizer Chiefs play, will be expanded to hold 104,000 fans next year. In India football is very popular. India will probably host the 2011 Asian Cup and the BBC has claimed that domestic football is bigger than domestic cricket,[7] but of course the Australian media would never report that would they?. Ireland is another country that loves football. Yes their domestic league draws small crowds, but the pubs are heaving with fans watching football from England and elsewhere, and many kids run around in replica shirts. Tancred 10:25, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
Yes I know of the Irish love of soccer and particuarly Liverpool, Man U, and most obviously Celtic, but it is nowhere near the level of their passion for Gaelic football outside the north and Dublin(that is if in fact northern Ireland is part of Ireland and not a part of Britain???) and rugby union has made decent inroads through the H-cup and 6 "nations". Never heard of soccer in India before that article and found it a bit gratituous... if soccer is so big, than where is the league to match it? But the point is, that among colonies composed of colonists from the home nations, soccer does not do too well as it does elsewhere. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 147.10.112.157 (talkcontribs) 22:39, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
