145th Street is a station on the IRT Lenox Avenue Line of the New York City Subway. Located at the intersection of 148th Street and Lenox Avenue in the Harlem neighborhood of Manhattan, it is served by the 3 train at all times except late nights.

Like the other stations on the original IRT subway, it was built for shorter trains. Eventually, all of the other stations were either lengthened or closed, leaving 145th Street as the only original IRT station that still cannot accommodate ten-car trains; the only other station in revenue service that cannot platform full trains is the outer loop station at South Ferry.

There are two tracks, with short side platforms that accommodate about 6 cars (only the first 5 open). There is no northbound entrance. Directly north of the station are crossovers for the approach to current northern terminal of the 3 train at 148th Street. Directly south of the station is the 142nd Street junction with the IRT White Plains Road Line. The proximity of the switches in either direction could be the reason why the station was not lengthened.

145th Street is one of the few stations in the New York City Subway system that is not open at all times. Between midnight and 6:00 a.m., when the 3 train does not operate, there is a shuttle bus to the 135th Street station, which is served by the 2 train at all times.
