You have recently vandalized a Wikipedia article, and you are now being asked to stop this type of behavior. You're welcome to continue editing Wikipedia, so long as these edits are constructive. Please see Wikipedia's Blocking policy and what constitutes vandalism; such actions are not tolerated on Wikipedia, and are not taken lightly.

We hope that you will become a legitimate editor and create an account. Again, you are welcome here at Wikipedia, but remember not to vandalize or you will soon be blocked from editing.

If you feel you have received this message in error, it may be because you are using a shared IP address. Nevertheless, repeated vandalism from this address may cause you to be included in any future punishments such as temporary blocks or bans. To avoid confusion in the future, we invite you to create a user account of your own.

[edit] Your edits to Timperley

Please do not add nonsense to Wikipedia, as you did to Timperley. It is considered vandalism. If you would like to experiment, use the sandbox. Thank you.

You should not add mentions of Cheshire to this article (or related articles) again. Wikipedia has very strict rules regarding this. Cheshire may only be mentioned as a small afternote - with sources - for historic purposes. Please take note of the first policy:

Wikipedia:Naming conventions (places) Counties of Britain
This policy in a nutshell This policy in a nutshell:
All Wikipedia articles about an existing British settlement or locality should use the current, administrative, county (e.g. Greater Manchester). Metropolitan counties, and other such modern counties, should be treated as counties and as a primary geographic reference frame. We should not take the minority position that the historic counties still exist with the former boundaries.

Please also note:

Wikipedia:Verifiability
This policy in a nutshell This policy in a nutshell:
  1. Articles should contain only material that has been published by reliable sources.
  2. Editors adding new material to an article should cite a reliable source, or it may be challenged or removed by any editor.
  3. The obligation to provide a reliable source lies with the editors wishing to include the material, not on those seeking to remove it.

Your mentions of Cheshire go against the policies formulated here, and the editting community is obliged to remove your statements each time. Should you breach these rules again, you may incur your account and computer IP/personal signature being blocked indefinately from ever editing Wikipedia again.

I send these policies to you in an effort to communicate the rules of Wikipedia and support you so you are not blocked. I trust this helps. Wikipedia is an community built encyclopedia, not a soapbox. Jhamez84 21:28, 7 November 2006 (UTC)

As has been mentioned here time and time again, by many different people, nobody is trying to suggest that Altrincham / Timperley is strictly in Cheshire anymore. But what people are trying to say is that most residents (wrongfully) still include Cheshire as part of the town's address. Thus showing the importance of Cheshire as part of most Altrinchamians lives. Since you (Jhamez84) don't live in Altrincham, then you are not able to know this or comment on this.
