This IP is an internet proxy server for all Marin County Schools. Blocking due to what an elementary-school vandal did will also block out many useful contributors. Ergo, you're "missing the forest for a tree". --Aussie Evil 18:34, 14 November 2005 (UTC)
I agree with you. I am an 8th grade student, and I have no way of patrolling the entire (K-5, 9-12, other 6-8) county's schools. (Marin County) I am doing my best to patrol this one, however.--atomicthumbs 17:07, 16 November 2005 (UTC)
Most of the edit warnings and messages aren't seen by the vandals you are trying to warn and are seen by other users who haven't vandalized anything. Warnings are effectively useless - outright blocking upon vandalism (zero-tolerance) is probably a better solution in this context.
