[edit] Welcome

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

Here are some other hints and tips:

  • I would recommend that you get a username. You don't have to log in to read or edit articles on Wikipedia, but creating an account is quick, free and non-intrusive, requires no personal information, and there are many benefits of having a username. (If you edit without a username, your IP address is used to identify you instead.)
  • When using talk pages, please sign your name at the end of your messages by typing four tildes (~~~~). This will automatically produce your username (or IP address) and the date.

If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question, ask me on my talk page, or type {{helpme}} on this talk page and a user will help you as soon as possible. I will answer your questions as far as I can. Again, welcome!

Thank you again for contributing to Wikipedia. I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian.

This message is regarding the page RuneScape. Please do not add commercial links—or links to your own private websites—to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or a mere collection of external links. Note that Wikipedia may see print or DVD publication, so we want more content, not more web links. See the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia. Thanks. Computerjoe 18:10, 10 March 2006 (UTC)

Do you want to contribute good information, which will stay in articles and be read and enjoyed by many people over time?

Or do you want to add nonsense, which will be quickly reverted and soon forgotten?

Some of us have figured out which is more fun :-). Will you join us? • The Giant Puffin • 19:24, 10 March 2006 (UTC)

Please don't add information about cheating in the game, for one, it's not allowed, and Wikipedia is not a game guide anyway, so we don't need instructions on how to do things in the game. --Rory096 19:56, 10 March 2006 (UTC)
