Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions.

Currently, you are editing without a username. You can continue to do so, as you are not required to log in to Wikipedia to read and edit articles; however, logging in will result in a username being shown instead of your IP address (yours is 132.241.245.245). Logging in does not require any personal details. There are many other benefits for logging in to Wikipedia. For now, if you are stuck, you can type {{helpme}} on this page and an experienced Wikipedian will be around to answer any questions you may have.

Please note these points:

  • Please respect others' copyrights; do not copy and paste the contents from webpages directly.
  • Please use a neutral point of view when editing articles; this is possibly the most important Wikipedia policy.
  • If you are testing, please use the Sandbox to do so.
  • Do not add unreasonable contents into any articles, such as: copyrighted text, advertisement messages, and text that is not related to an article's subject. Both adding such unreasonable information and editing articles maliciously are considered vandalism.

The Wikipedia Tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, ask me on my Talk page. I will answer your questions as far as I can! Thank you again for contributing to Wikipedia. Antonrojo 17:09, 8 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] "local matter comprendo?"

I am a local. What of it? ---J.S (t|c) 22:17, 5 June 2006 (UTC)

I live and work in Citrus Heights. Just moved from Grass Valley 8 months ago. ---J.S (t|c) 22:25, 5 June 2006 (UTC)

If your looking for haunted spots in Grass Valley area I'd suggest the Empire Mine. The old manor on the property is said the be haunted. Also, they are opening up a new tunnel into the mine for tourists... that will be a nice little spot no doubt. (My family was heavily involved in the project, btw) Mt. Saint Marries School used to be a hospital and an orphanage. I've heard some scary stories about that place. It's a private school now. Big scary building. The two big old hotels are both haunted... so I hear. ---J.S (t|c) 22:37, 5 June 2006 (UTC)

The usual stuff. Had a cousin who went to that school who said every now and then he'd feel someones hand on his shoulder and when he turned around there was no one there. I saw a transparent girl in the attic window when I drove by it once.
Some of the old graveyards hold promise. Hmmm Miner's foundry in Nevada City is haunted. So is the grange hall in Rough and Ready.
In an area with so many old buildings it's hard to throw a stone and not hit a haunted site:) ---J.S (t|c) 23:05, 5 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] 3RR

Please refrain from undoing other people's edits repeatedly. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia under the three-revert rule, which states that nobody may revert an article to a previous version more than three times in 24 hours. (Note: this also means editing the page to reinsert an old edit. If the effect of your actions is to revert back, it qualifies as a revert.) Thank you. -Will Beback 22:35, 6 June 2006 (UTC)

Writing "this is not a revert" does not affect the status of a revert. You're blocked for 24 hours. You're welcome to edit when the block expires, but please do not get into revert wars. -Will Beback 23:07, 6 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] John Birch Society

Thank you for experimenting with Wikipedia. Your test worked, and it has been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you want to do. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia. Antonrojo 17:10, 8 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] LGBT social movements

I would suggest you take your case to Talk:LGBT social movements to avoid getting blocked for violation of WP:3RR, and, in general, to make everyone's life easier by avoiding an edit war. -Smahoney 22:41, 3 July 2006 (UTC)

Eh, we can all be jerks on wikipedia. As a rule, taking questionable or controversial changes to the talk page of an article to get editorial consensus is a more productive way to do things, and saves a lot of time and hurt feelings. -Smahoney 22:44, 3 July 2006 (UTC)
Ha! Nicely done. I think I'd prefer, though, if you swapped Ann Coulter and Engels' categories for that one, just so we can be totally sure she doesn't have any kids (and eat them). -Smahoney 23:08, 3 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Military of the United States

Please do not add nonsense to Wikipedia. It is considered vandalism. If you would like to experiment, use the sandbox. Thank you. -Freyr 21:18, 5 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Roseburg High School

Stop adding copyrighted text to the Roseburg High School article. This is your last warning. --Liface 21:31, 5 July 2006 (UTC)

I don't have too much time right now but if you could just go ahead and summarize the article in a couple sentences, then it can be added. --Liface 21:34, 5 July 2006 (UTC)

Thank you for experimenting with the page Category:American slaveholders on Wikipedia. Your test worked, and has been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you want to do. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia. --StuffOfInterest 00:16, 13 July 2006 (UTC)

Regarding your message on my talk page, if you don't think it should exist, then considering nominating it at WP:CfD. That is the proper way rather than vandalizing its page. --StuffOfInterest 00:20, 13 July 2006 (UTC)

Please stop. If you continue to vandalize pages, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. OhNoitsJamie Talk 00:21, 13 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Removing Warnings

Please do not remove warnings from your talk page or replace them with offensive content. Removing or maliciously altering warnings from your talk page will not remove them from the page history. If you continue to remove or vandalize warnings from your talk page, you will lose your privilege of editing your talk page. Thanks. Daniel.Bryant (aka Killfest2) 00:24, 13 July 2006 (UTC)

Please stop. If you continue to remove warning messages from your talk page, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. --Pilotguy (roger that) 00:27, 13 July 2006 (UTC)

This is your last warning. Removing warnings from your talk page is considered vandalism. You will be blocked from editing Wikipedia and your talk page will be protected from editing if you do it again. Daniel.Bryant (aka Killfest2) 00:27, 13 July 2006 (UTC)

You have been temporarily blocked from editing for vandalism of Wikipedia. Please note that page blanking, addition of random text or spam, deliberate misinformation, privacy violations, and repeated and blatant violation of WP:NPOV are considered vandalism. If you wish to make useful contributions, you may come back after the block expires. OhNoitsJamie Talk 00:35, 13 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] LGBT literature

For the record, I don't care whether Lynne Cheney wrote a novel with lesbian overtones or not; no individual writers are to be filed directly in Category:LGBT literature under any circumstances. It's not a POV thing; it's entirely about what the category is for: it isn't meant for individual writers. Writers go in writer categories, not general "literature" categories. If there's an article on her book, then that can be filed in the LGBT literature category. If it ever comes to pass that she divorces Dickieboy and comes out as a lesbian, then she can be added to Category:Lesbian writers. But until that happens, there are no LGBT-related categories that she belongs in. Bearcat 08:43, 13 July 2006 (UTC)

Please refrain from adding nonsense to Wikipedia, as you did to Peter Cook (architect). It is considered vandalism. If you would like to experiment, use the sandbox. A link to the edit I have reverted can be found here: link. If you believe this edit should not have been reverted, please contact me. –- kungming·2 | (Talk·Contact) 21:33, 14 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Jack the Ripper

Please refrain from undoing other people's edits repeatedly, as you are doing in Jack the Ripper. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia under the three-revert rule, which states that nobody may revert a single page more than three times in 24 hours. (Note: this also means editing the page to reinsert an old edit. If the effect of your actions is to revert back, it qualifies as a revert.) Thank you.

If you disagree, take it to Talk:Jack the Ripper. EVula 21:40, 14 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Regarding edits made during September 18, 2006 (UTC) to Ray Meier

Please do not replace Wikipedia pages or sections with blank content. It is considered vandalism. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you want to do. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia. Thanks. (Note: this also means editing the page to reinsert an old edit. If the effect of your actions is to revert back, it qualifies as a revert.) Thank you. I should point out that your edits are not in fact vandalism, however. --Sam Blanning(talk) 02:15, 18 September 2006 (UTC)

Additionally, please explain why you are removing so much text from the article. It's not helping me know why you are removing all of that information about his life if you don't tell us why. Ryūlóng 02:21, 18 September 2006 (UTC)

I did explain why I was removing text from the article. 132.241.245.245 02:23, 18 September 2006 (UTC)

Yes, but was it necessary to remove that much text from the article? That was around a kilobyte or two of memory. Ryūlóng 02:24, 18 September 2006 (UTC)

Sorry but my concern is maintaining the NPOV on the article.

If you want to go through the whole thing and do the fine detail work it would be great. 132.241.245.245 02:26, 18 September 2006 (UTC)

While some of that information may be germane it does look like it was written by a PR rep. I think it should stay out, at least until someone feels like writing it up properly. Wikipedia is not a campaign service. I'm going to re-remove it for now rather than risk further 3RR violations (I assume I don't have to give you a warning, Ryulong). --Sam Blanning(talk) 02:27, 18 September 2006 (UTC)
No, I'm done working on that article. I would just prefer that in the future, instead of going through and removing six paragraphs, could you perhaps re-write those paragraphs so they conform to a neutral POV? Ryūlóng 02:28, 18 September 2006 (UTC)
(The above was a suggestion to the anon) 02:35, 18 September 2006 (UTC)
That's the first-best option, but second-best is to just remove it - devaluing our encyclopaedia by leaving campaign literature in is third-best. We have enough content - we're meant to be focusing on quality now, and that means not being afraid to wield the axe. --Sam Blanning(talk) 02:31, 18 September 2006 (UTC)
