If you think Wikipedia is such a flawed piece of worthless trash, why don't you go somewhere else where your brilliance is more appreciated? RickK 04:39, 21 Apr 2004 (UTC)
- Alternatively you could stick around and help us make it less flawed and more worthy. It's probably a good idea to go easy on the gratuitous insults though, because the new breed of trigger-happy robo-cop style sysops will block your IP address if they think you are looking at them funny. - Vandalism is no big deal. Anybody who spots it can revert it then and there. That's the glory of the Wiki. There is really no need for armed gangs of vigilantes to roam the streets of Wikipedia. It just makes the rest of us nervous. Chill out, brother! Peace! GrahamN 05:04, 21 Apr 2004 (UTC)
- Not ignored, reverted. Easy peasy. And nobody gets hurt. GrahamN 05:08, 21 Apr 2004 (UTC)
Note this IP address along with
- 129.93.210.124 (baux2.unl.edu),
- 129.93.191.26 (alpha.unl.edu)
- 129.93.191.67 (omega.unl.edu)
- 129.93.191.107
- 129.93.210.128 (cather-sb.unl.edu)
is probably from the same user at the University of Nebraska who has been banned previously for vandalism and for waging a personal vendetta against User:Bkell.
Right. One little vandalism and this ID is going to be blocked, too. RickK 04:47, 21 Apr 2004 (UTC)
[edit] Email from Brian Kell
Here's the email Brian Kell sent me, for the public record: -- Decumanus | Talk 04:59, 21 Apr 2004 (UTC)
- In the past couple days, apparently several of my friends thought it would be funny to get me blocked from Wikipedia. Unfortunately, it appears that they have succeeded.
- My IP address is 129.93.191.62 (ultramarine.unl.edu). You may also find me accessing Wikipedia from 129.93.191.36 (upsilon.unl.edu), 129.93.190.38 (sidekick.unl.edu), or 129.93.191.111 (haywire.unl.edu); all of these computers are directly under my control and no one else's. I never edit pages anonymously; all my edits are done under the login Bkell.
- Apparently my entire subnet has been blocked, due simply to the vandalism of a couple of my friends. You will find that the vandalism comes from these IPs only: 129.93.210.124 (baux2.unl.edu), 129.93.191.26 (alpha.unl.edu), 129.93.191.67 (omega.unl.edu), and possibly 129.93.191.107 (maxo.unl.edu).
- I would appreciate it if you could somehow narrow the block to these three or four IPs. They are static IPs, so there is no need to block the entire subnet.
- Thank you for your understanding.
- Brian Kell (Bkell)
I support Brian in that these four IPs should be banned too.
