[edit] Countervandalism

It was brought to my attention that a number of articles are fictional. I added text to that effect so that (1) users who see them will not be fooled, and (2) so that people who know what they're doing (perhaps like you?) can remove them. These articles are about things that do not actually exist.

I checked Yahoo, and you're right so far as Vincent Petty and the Ghosh Factor (at least as described) are seemingly false. In any case, they'll both be marked for deletion — good catch. The third one, on Fletcher and the Stickey Wickets, is a real band, but not of sufficient notability for inclusion in Wikipedia.
I apologize for marking your edits as vandalism; typically, when someone will add something to the effect of "This is false" to a page, it's not legitimate. When you find pages like these, you can instead mark them for a vote for deletion, or edit them to correct them.
Thanks for helping to keep Wikipedia accurate. Have you considered creating an account here? Deadsalmon 04:54, 13 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks for your help.

I added a message for you on your user-talk page as well because I wasn't sure that you'd see this one; you may want to remove it (I don't want to clutter your stuff). I will consider creating an account! Pleasure working with you.

Likewise. You may want to look at the introduction page as a good place to start, if you're not familiar with Wikipedia. Thanks again. Deadsalmon 05:08, 13 January 2006 (UTC)
