[edit] Vandalism warnings
You have recently vandalized the Wikipedia article Eugene, Oregon, and you are now being asked to stop this type of behavior. You're welcome to continue editing Wikipedia, so long as these edits are constructive. Please see Wikipedia's Blocking policy and what constitutes vandalism; such actions are not tolerated on Wikipedia, and are not taken lightly.
We hope that you will become a legitimate editor and create an account. Again, you are welcome here at Wikipedia, but remember not to vandalize or you will soon be blocked from editing.
If you feel you have received this message in error, it may be because you are using a shared IP address. Nevertheless, repeated vandalism from this address may cause you to be included in any future sanctions such as temporary blocks or bans. To avoid confusion in the future, we invite you to create a user account of your own. Katr67 21:32, 22 September 2006 (UTC)

From my userpage:
- why did you send me this ip-based message without even leaving me a way to contact you and discuss. what i would like to discuss is the fact that I didn't make *any* edits to wikipedia until now...i work for a very big company with probably 700 people in a natted environment all showing the same external ip. please at least acknowledge this possibility and alter your behavior accordingly. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 12.180.52.194 (talk • contribs) 17:01, September 22, 2006 (UTC)
Hi, I'm sorry if you feel you received my vandalism warning in error. I changed the above vandal warning to reflect this--please note especially the last paragraph. IP accounts on Wikipedia often are the source of vandalism, and thus non-vandal users of the same IP may receive vandalism warnings and other messages not directed at them. Many editors, me included, take vandalism on Wikipedia very seriously, and try to warn vandals about their behavior as quickly as possible. Because of this, we do not always choose the IP-specific warning, but use a generic vandalism warning. Please do not take this personally. We recommend creating an account to solve this problem. As far as "not leaving you a way to contact me", actually, all communication between users takes place on talk pages. Just as I am leaving a message on this IP's talk page, if you wish to reply to it, you can do so on my talk page. (And not on my userpage, where you placed your initial message to me.) To reach another user, for example, if you were to click on my username, below, you would see a tab on the top of my userpage labeled "discussion"--that leads you to my talk page. I hope this clears things up. If you reply, please sign your posts with 4 tildes, like this ~~~~. Thanks and happy editing! Katr67 01:30, 23 September 2006 (UTC)
This is the discussion page for an anonymous user, identified by the user's numerical IP address. Some IP addresses change periodically, and may be shared by several users. If you are an anonymous user, you may create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other anonymous users. Registering also hides your IP address.
