1-Methyl indole is an irritating, potentially toxic organic compound which occurs as a deep yellow viscous liquid with a very strong unpleasant odor. It has chemical formula C₉H₉N. Its CAS number is [603-76-9] [1] and its SMILES structure is CN2C=CC1=CC=CC=C12.
