Žilina Region

The Žilina Region (Slovak: Žilinský kraj) is one of the eight Slovak administrative regions. It is located in the northern part of Slovakia along the Váh river and consists of 11 districts (okresy):
- Bytča District
- Čadca District
- Dolný Kubín District
- Kysucké Nové Mesto District
- Liptovský Mikuláš District
- Martin District
- Námestovo District
- Ružomberok District
- Turčianske Teplice District
- Tvrdošín District
- Žilina District
The area of the Žilina Region is 6,788 km². It has 692,332 inhabitants (2001).
