Željko Samardžić

Željko Samardžić (Жељко Самарџић, born October 3, 1955) is a famous Serbian folk singer in the former Yugoslav republics.

Željko was born in Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Yugoslavia to Serbian parents. He was known in Mostar for being a good imitator of Folk singer Kemal Monteno. When the war broke out, Željko moved to Belgrade and started singing in discoteques and cafés for a little money. Some businessmen brought him to the elite club "Ambasador" and gave him 30.000 for an album with Marina Tučaković and Aleksandar Radulović, on the festival of "Pjesma Mediterana" in Budva, he sang "Sipajate, još jedan viski" and the doors opened to show business.

He is a supporter of Mostar football club FK Velež Mostar.
