Ōita District, Ōita

Ōita (大分郡; -gun) is a district located in Ōita, Japan.
As of 2003, the district has an estimated population of 40,723 and the density of 99.35 persons per km². The total area is 409.90 km².

Until September 30, 2005, the district had three towns. On October 1, 2005, all towns within the district merged to form the city of Yufu, and Oita District was dissolved.
On January 1, 2005, the town of Notsuharu merged into the city of Ōita.
