Ľubomír Moravčík (born June 22, 1965 in Nitra) is a former footballer from Slovakia, who played internationally for Czechoslovakia and Slovakia.

He played at Saint-Étienne, Bastia and MSV Duisburg, before moving to Glasgow to play with Celtic in 1998. Signed by fellow Slovakian Dr Jozef Vengloš for a fee of £300,000, he became a hero in the eyes of the Parkhead faithful, forming an outstanding partnership with Henrik Larsson.

Moravčík's first goal for Celtic came against their arch rivals Rangers. He then went on to score Celtic's second goal in what turned out to be a memorable 5-1 victory. Reportedly described by Zinedine Zidane as the best attacking midfielder he had ever seen, [1] Moravčík was unusual in that he was highly proficient at ball control both feet [2].

Following his successful spell with Celtic, he once again joined up with Venglos at Japanese J. League team Ichihara in the summer of 2002.

Moravčík is his country's most capped player, with a total of 79 appearances for Czechoslovakia and Slovakia. He is currently the coach of Slovak national U-17 team.
