Čerenčany (earlier Cšerencšány, Hungarian: Cserencsény) is a village and municipality in the Rimavská Sobota District of the Banská Bystrica Region of southern Slovakia.

In historical records the village was first mentioned in 1334 (Cherenchen), when it belonged to the Kalocz archbishopric. In the 15th century it passed to the Hajnáčka Castle.
