Øvre Stjørdal is a former municipality in Nord-Trøndelag county, Norway. It was created by the splitting of Stjørdalen formannskapsdistrikt into Nedre og Øvre Stjørdal in 1850.

Øvre Stjørdal existed until January 1, 1874, when it was split to form two new municipalities: Hegra and Meråker.
