Dr. Össur Skarphéðinsson is an Icelandic politician, a member of the parliament (Althing) and a former chairman of The Social Democratic Alliance in Iceland. He graduated with a Doctoral degree in physiology from the University of East Anglia in 1983. Skarphéðinsson is first parliament member of Reykjavík North Constituency since 2003.

Recently, Mr. Skarphéðinsson [1] has been noted for being a prominent blogger [2], often quoted by the Icelandic press.
