The Étoile Sportive du Sahel (Arabic: النـجـم الرياضي الساحلي, often referred to as Étoile du Sahel) is a sports club from Sousse in the Sahel region of Tunisia, known primarily for its football team. The club has also sections for handball, volleyball, basketball, judo and wrestling. In English the name means Sport (or Athletic) Star of the Sahel.

The club was founded during a public meeting at the French-Arabic school in the Laroussi Zarrouk Street in Sousse. Chedli Boujemla is elected first chairman of the multi-sports club, and there is some discussion to find the club a name: Of the various possibilities, La Soussienne and La Musulmane are quickly rejected. The name Etoile Sportive de Sousse is not approved, because the club is not just supposed to make its mark in its town, but in the whole Sahel region. Thus l'Etoile Sportive du Sahel gets its name. The club is officially recognized by the Protectorate administration on July 17, 1925. In March 1926, Ali Larbi becomes the chairman of the Soccer section of the club, which enters the Tunisian Football League.
L'Etoile is then the islamic club in Sousse, against the French in the Patriote de Sousse, the jews of Maccabi, the Italians of La Savoia and the Red Star's Maltese. Though communitarian football had been banned officially since 1919 in Tunesia, in reality, it still existed.
