Éire Óg (band)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Éire Óg (Irish for: Young Ireland), formed in Glasgow in the early 1990s, was a modern Irish rebel band that toured the United Kingdom, Ireland, Europe and the USA extensively through the mid- to late nineties.

They were noted for their introduction of marching drums to their music. It gave them an unmistakable sound that became the popular sound track to the war during a period of civil strife prior to the PIRA ceasefire of the late nineties.

The band was led by an Irish republican supporter, Glasgow-born folk rock singer Gary Og, who is now a solo artist.
