École normale supérieure lettres et sciences humaines

The École Normale Supérieure Lettres et Sciences Humaines (ENS-LSH) is an elite French grande école located in Lyon, in the district of Gerland, near the École Normale Supérieure de Lyon (Sciences).

This school is meant to train high school and classes préparatoires teachers, but also university professors and researchers.

The two schools were located in Saint-Cloud and Fontenay-aux-Roses, near Paris. Firstly male students went to Saint-Cloud and female to Fontenay-aux Roses, but after 1981, the schools became mixed, scientific students went to Saint-Cloud and literary to Fontenay-aux-Roses. Then the schools both moved to Lyon in the frame of French decentralisation, Saint-Cloud in 1987 and Fontenay-aux-Roses in 2000.
